Empty nest syndrome is not a clinical diagnosis, but it’s a syndrome that some parents experience when their last child leaves home. It can include feelings of sadness, loss and difficulty when you suddenly have no children at home to care for.
Mixed emotions can be expected when your child is taking their first steps towards independence. You want to encourage this exciting new chapter in his or her life, but you might miss being part of their daily lives.
